discipline.
we’ve embarked on a 40 days fast from negative thinking! I reallyyyyy love the daily devotions alot, and tried to follow it a few times, but so far I’ve only went till 10 plus or 20 sth days before it became discontinued =S
haha so I thought I start from the back of the booklet this time (play cheat) =B
Today we’re fasting from the thought that says, “I just don’t have the discipline to…”
and when I read it, it was like =O to me because it’s like at the back of your mind but it never really registered in my head this was a wrong thought/negative thinking.
Then it made sense, about what Bro Joel Wright said also at DCD that we’ve carried baggages with us so long that we don’t realise they’re there anymore. I’ve alwayyyysssss been so ill-discipline till it has become such a part of my life; I live with it and I kind of ‘pride’ myself for it (oxymoron ttm) and I think it as a personality trait, that this is me so change was not possible - but this is not true!
Having such mentality is like I’m setting myself up for failure all the time even before I start myself on anything… =O
Even the Word says:
For God has not given us a spirit of fear and timidity, but of power, love, and self-discipline.
2 Timothy 1:7 (NLT)
God has given me the spirit of discipline and I am silly to think myself without it and to even reject it!
And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.
Romans 12:2 (NKJV)
I really feel the necessity for the renewing of my mind, it feels weird as of now and hard to comprehend myself being someone of utmost discipline. But yes! I shall meditate on God’s Word and be transformed. Amen.
I want to be a disciple of Christ, not just a screaming crazy fan and discipline is at the core of being a disciple.
Thank you Jesus for understanding.
I’ve heard a true story of how a man’s life has been faithfully prayed for by an unknown stranger since he was a boy.
One day, you may be that stranger, called upon to pray for a life waiting to unfold.
Or perhaps, you have been that boy, who have always had a prayer covering you never knew.
And maybe, we are both the stranger and boy.
We have all been recipients of grace unmerited, favor undeserved, and second chances (again and again).
We are indebted.
Indebted to pass it on.
What I like best about this debt, is that you can never be rid of it. Hence, you will never be left alone.

Anyone can praise when the battle is over and won, but it is only by faith that we can we praise at the start.

JUDAH DARE
“Do you want a deeper relationship with God?” “But how?”, we ask.
This is the reason why you would like to engage your next 21 days with this blog. When facing struggles or battles, let us first praise. Let praising God become both an act of faith and submission. Anyone can praise when the battle is over and won, but it is only by faith that we can we praise at the start.
Praise God before the battle is entered.
Praise God before you start your day.

Chapter 1
I walk down the street. Deep hole in sidewalk. I fall in. I’m lost. I’m helpless. It isn’t my fault. Takes forever to find a way out.Chapter 2
I walk down the same street. Deep hole in sidewalk. Pretend not to see. Fall in again. Not my fault. Still takes long time to get out.Chapter 3
I walk down the same street. Deep hole in sidewalk. I see it, but still fall in. It’s a habit. It is my fault. I get out immediately.Chapter 4
I walk down the same street. Deep hole in sidewalk. I walk around it.Chapter 5
I walk down another street.
and here’s the link to the recording of what Rev Tenney preached today for Sunday Service. =DDD
be blessed!
(click on the heading!)
Really blessed by Rev. TF Tenney’s preaching today. They’re really words of wisdom from someone who’s been through so much life experiences staying committed and loving God so wholeheartedly. Simply love the witty but meaningful wordplays.
The last point really stood out strong. We’re all gonna be judged by not what we’ve done but what God has called us to do. Everyone is an unique individual and we all have our specific calling and place in His Kingdom. It’s really important that we stop trying to be anyone else but ourselves. No matter which ministry or place you’re at, you’ve just simply got to find God’s calling for your life. If God has called you to be an accountant, so be it! Don’t end up being a preacher and lose the $10 million God has intended you to finance it for His Kingdom! It really reminded me that no place/position/role in God’s Kingdom is less important than the other. We are all equally important.

am really really really blessed.

Coming to China has opened my eyes to many things, its people, its culture, its flexibility. But more than anything, it has again opened my eyes to see the value of a soul. We have been given much — the apostles’ docrine, the call to a holy lifestyle, separated unto God, hence of us much will be required. But our role in bringing and pointing others to Christ, is not one of a demanding school master, exacting on others more than they can bear; nor is it one of a irresponsible parent, to neglect in the name of liberty. We need to love, we need to teach, we need to travail, we need to be patient. We need to be ourselves, and most importantly, we need to let God be God. It doesn’t mean a born-again experience spells the end of our duty, just as it doesn’t mean a conceived seed does not need watering and nourishing. As I was listening to my friend, I recognized who was I speaking to, a soul, real and tangible as me. A soul, with limitless potential and worth. I feel almost prophetic with the prospect of what she could be, and my heart is filled with tenderness at where she is at now, and I am just overwhelmed with the knowledge of who she is. Each of us, is of worth precious enough to bring Christ’s death on the cross. The thought often brings us to ask, ‘what is man? that thou art mindful of him…’ But my friends, may I present to you, the other side of this question, ‘Who is God? that he would love us so…’ In a place with such a huge population, a flood of people often only remind us of more queues, longer waiting time, and nasty squeezy experience. It’s too easy to see people as numbers, figures and statistics, but God never sees us as that, He calls us by name. This excerpt was written by a sister, who spent 6 months abroad in China.
The Greatest Gentleman of all cultures and time periods
I am just glad and privileged, to once again hear the honest words of a seeking soul. One step at a time, God is a gentleman, He will not enter without an invitation, but He continues to knock on the door of our hearts.
This is what a dearly beloved sister told me when I first accepted Jesus into my heart. 6 years on, this is what I remember poignantly still, and I tell others too about it. It is ageless; it is true; it is so reassuring.

When we watch the news, we grieve of all this (terrorism, wars and such), but when we go to the movies, we want more of it. Somehow we realize that great stories are told in conflict, but we are unwilling to embrace the potential greatness of the story we are actually in. We think God is unjust, rather than a master storyteller.
