I am happy the way God has made me as a woman, and I’ll like to present myself in this manner.

--Barbara Ann Willoughby

To the Janes & Jennys on the Street

  • J&J:
Wow. You have really long hair! Why don't you cut it?
  • You:
(give a smile) Why is there a need to cut it?
  • J&J:
    Singapore's so hot, isn't it?
  • You:
(politely ask back) Wow. You have really nice clothes! Why don't you wear uglier clothes? They are cheaper and more functional.
  • J&J:
    (speechless) huh?
  • You:
You see... It is innate for us to please someone. When we wear nice clothes, we are trying to look presentable to the people around us and please the people we meet. It just happens that I am trying to please another crowd. When I leave uncut hair, I am trying to look presentable in front of the angels around me and please my King, Jesus, whom I meet with and talk to every day.

Anything worth doing, is worth failing over; because it’s a worthy goal and a precious dream.

‘This hope we have as an anchor of the soul, both sure and steadfast, and which enters the Presence behind the veil, where the forerunner has entered for us, even Jesus, having become High Priest forever according to the order of Melchizedek.’
Hebrews 6:19-20

randomly chose one part from this sermon by Rev Jeff Arnold to put it here and share it with whoever. =)

‘I’ve got an anchor; sure and steadfast that’s holding me.’

God bless

Too many of us want to escape when God wants us to experience;
Too many of us want to be delivered when God wants us to discover.

“If I find in myself a desire which no experience in this world can satisfy, the most probable explanation is that I was made for another world.”
C.S. Lewis

C.S. Lewis Song
by Brooke Fraser

If I find in myself
desires nothing in this world can satisfy,
I can only conclude
that I, I was not made for here
If the flesh that I fight is at best
only light and momentary,
then of course I’ll feel nude
when to where I’m destined I’m compared

Speak to me in the light of the dawn
Mercy comes with the morning
I will sigh and with all creation groan
as I wait for hope to come for me

Am I lost or just less found?
On the straight or on the roundabout
of the wrong way?
Is this a soul that stirs in me
is it breaking free, wanting to come alive?
‘Cos my comfort would prefer for me to be numb
And avoid the impending birth
of who I was born to become

Speak to me in the light of the dawn
Mercy comes with the morning
I will sigh and with all creation groan
as I wait for hope to come for me

For we, we are not long here
Our time is but a breath,
so we better breathe it
And I, I was made to live
I was made to love
I was made to know you
Hope is coming for me
Hope, He’s coming for me
Hope is coming for me
Hope, He’s coming

Speak to me in the light of the dawn
Mercy comes with the morning
I will sigh and with all creation groan
as I wait for hope to come for me
For me, for me, for me

The bold lyrics of this song is a rephrase (by the Brooke Fraser) of the C.S. Lewis quote above. The meaning of this song surrounds the quote and now that I know, I like the meaning of the song.

Forgiveness

Forgiveness is not avoiding God’s justice…
-It is allowing God to execute His justice in His time and in His way.
Forgiveness is not waiting for “time to heal all wounds.”…
-It is clear that time doesn’t heal wounds - some people will not allow healing.
Forgiveness is not letting the guilty “off the hook.”…
-It is moving the guilty from your hook to God’s hook.
Forgiveness is not the same as reconciliation…
-It takes two for reconciliation, only one for forgiveness.
Forgiveness is not excusing unjust behaviour…
-It is acknowledging that unjust behaviour is without excuse, while still forgiving.
Forgiveness is not explaining away the hurt…
-It is working through the hurt.
Forgiveness is not based on what is fair…
-It was not “fair” for Jesus to hang on the cross.
Forgiveness is not being a weak martyr…
-It is being strong enough to be Christlike.
Forgiveness is not suppressing your anger…
-It is resolving your anger by releasing the offense to God.
Forgiveness is not a natural response…
-It is a supernatural response, empowered by God.
Forgiveness is not denying the hurt…
-It is feeling the hurt and releasing it.
Forgiveness is not being a doormat…
-It is seeing that, if this were so, Jesus would have been the greatest doormat of all.
Forgiveness is not conditional…
-It is unconditional, a mandate from God to everyone.
Forgiveness is not forgetting…
-It is necessary to remember before you can forgive.
Forgiveness is not a feeling…
-It is a choice - an act of the will.

21st Century Disciples Notes

Prayers Of The Righteous
by Pentecostals of Alexandria

When we pray, we believe, we receive what we ask
In His name all things are possible
When we pray we tap into miraculous thing
And victoriously we declare

That we know that the prayers of the righteous availeth much
The prayer of the righteous prevails
Yes we know, the prayers of the righteous prevails
His love never fails
The prayers of the righteous availeth much

We are victorious
We are victorious
We are victorious
We are, we are

You are miraculous
You are miraculous
You are miraculous
You are, you are

“And I sought for a man among them, that should make up the hedge, and stand in the gap before me for the land, that I should not destroy it: but I found none.”
Ezekial 22:30

God was seeking for just one person who would stand in the gap and intercede on behalf of the nation. The fate of the entire nation could have be reverted, if one man had made himself/herself available.

“Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.”
James 5:16

Therefore, pray; intercede; travail for your loved ones, your friends, your leaders, your government and your nation for the prayers of the righteous availeth much. There are prayers that touch Heaven and change earth.

Amen.

Doctrine is the vehicle to take Jesus to the people.

‎You and I need people in our lives who cheat us, betray us, deceive us, and who cut us deeply. Why? Because they help the crucifying of our flesh, and let us step into resurrection turf.
