Absolutely 100% agree.

I do have to add that there are enough women in this world who are afraid. We need more fearless women willing to share the gospel, their past experiences of pain and overcoming obstacles, and the true meaning of what it means to be a Christian woman.

Intersection in the roads.

I’m preparing myself, anticipating as I approach this same intersection in the roads again - and this time, I must remember that I’m supposed to take the other path. Not the same old road that I always walk knowing there lies ahead a pit and always falling into it, then leading me again on a roundabout! Not somewhere further…

That I walk with intention, with grace and courage on the other path and not walk once again with habit (bad habit mind you).

Am I afraid? Yes… Definitely. Pretty scared… Because I’ve said it many times, that I would not fall in that same pit; that I would not stay in there so long; that I will avoid it when I pass it by (I KNOW EXACTLY WHERE IT IS!) - but nevertheless, I’ve fell in many many times and then always I would say to God, ‘Lord, it’s me again…’

No, but this time it shall be different. AND I DECLARE IT MUST BE! I must venture further though uncertainty would accompany me like a close friend.

Lord, that I hold tight to Your hand this time. Hold me close, that I walk with You, following after You and we’ll take the other path together. Uncertainty would mean nothing because You will have all of my attention. I wouldn’t even remember uncertainty’s presence.

Maybe I wouldn’t even see the intersection this time and I wouldn’t know we’ve passed it till You tell me…

My eyes shall be solely fixed upon You as You lead me along. You only know where the other path goes and I’m sure there’s gonna be much adventure involved.

Yes. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Anyone can praise when the battle is over and won, but it is only by faith that we can we praise at the start.

When I say, “I am a Christian”
I’m not shouting, “I’ve been saved!”
I’m whispering, “I get lost!
That’s why I chose this way”

When I say, “I am a Christian”
I don’t speak with human pride
I’m confessing that I stumble -
needing God to be my guide

When I say, “I am a Christian”
I’m not trying to be strong
I’m professing that I’m weak
and pray for strength to carry on

When I say, “I am a Christian”
I’m not bragging of success
I’m admitting that I’ve failed
and cannot ever pay the debt

When I say, “I am a Christian”
I don’t think I know it all
I submit to my confusion
asking humbly to be taught

When I say, “I am a Christian”
I’m not claiming to be perfect
My flaws are far too visible
but God believes I’m worth it

When I say, “I am a Christian”
I still feel the sting of pain
I have my share of heartache
which is why I seek His name

When I say, “I am a Christian”
I do not wish to judge
I have no authority
I only know I’m loved

--Carol Wimmer (1988)

Give me, O Lord,
A steadfast heart,
which no unworthy affection
May drag downwards;

Give me
An unconquered heart,
which no tribulation
Can wear out;

Give me
An upright heart,
which no unworthy purpose
May tempt aside

Bestow on me also, O Lord my God,
Understanding to know You,
Dilligence to seek You,
Wisdom to find You,
And a faithfulness
That may finally embrace You,
Through Jesus Christ our Lord.

--Thomas Aquinas

Victory

Victory is not won by doing the right things occasionally; victory is won by doing the right things daily.

- Rev Raymond Woodward

If you believe in a God who controls the big things, you have to believe in a God who controls the little things. It is we, of course, to whom things look ‘little’ or ‘big’.

paperbread:

monotony. Are we able to be faithful in the menial, insignificant, routine, regular, unexciting, uneventful, daily tasks of life? Life without a break… without the parties and thrills. Just dull, plain L-I-F-E.

For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith.
